The idea of picturesque, white lacquered furniture can be traced back to Skagen s golden age, when artists such as Kroyer, Ancher and Drachmann were inspired by the unique nature and so special light that characterize the northern tip of Denmark.

Mogens Holmriis drew inspiration from these classic pieces to design his Skagen bench for Skagerak. Teak is hard, stable and very easy to work with. At the same time, the wood is characterized by a unique content of naturally impregnating oils, which make the wood resistant to rot and fungal decay. Therefore, furniture made of high quality teak can stand outdoors all year round, without any further treatment other than regular cleaning. If you want to preserve the beautiful play of color of the wood and want a darker shade, you can treat the furniture with oil.
